Spotlight on NSU Art Museum

The NSU Art Museum is participating in Art Fallout again this year. Founded in 1958, NSU Art Museum is a premier destination for exhibitions and programs. Its exhibition program aims to challenge the viewer's perception of the world around them and celebrates a permanent collection of over 6,000 works of art.

During Art Fallout, the museum invites its visitors to see its current exhibitions, including: The Indestructible Lee Miller, Pablo Picasso: Painted Ceramics and Works on Paper 1931-71, War Horses: Helhesten and the Danish Avant-Garde during World War II, William J. Glackens: A Modernist in the Making.

Admission is FREE. Museum Café will offer light bites and 2-for-1 wine and beer for purchase.

Visitors may park in Broward County Main Library public parking at the corner of SE First Avenue and SE 2nd Street, where they will board a shuttle which will stop at the different venues.

Spotlight on Mac Fine Art

MAC Fine Art is joins Art Fallout for another year presenting the exhibition, Second Chances.

The curator, Rochi Llaneza, is interested in the transformation that comes through 'Second Chances' in life and objects.

Artists in the exhibition include, Angie Gomez Duran, Claudio Roncoli, Cole Miller, Luna Goldberg, Elena Bond, Jacqueline Berkley, Jacek Kolasinski, Alex Nuñez, Consuelo Castañeda, Rosario Verdecia and Gudrun Newman.

MAC Fine Art is located in a 10,000 sq. ft. gallery that houses the vast MAC collection. MAC maintains an in house Multimedia Department complete with a digital photography studio, a state-of-the-art Gicleé printing facility, and a computer-graphic/prepress department. The space also features a custom design frame shop and shipping department, which allows for even greater quality control, giving the gallery full oversight of the collecting process, from initial contact through to the finish, delivery and installation of the artwork.

Refreshments will be served.

Street parking available as well as parking lot for trolleys and visitors a couple of blocks away.

Spotlight on Made in Broward @ The Cottage

made in Brwoard @ The Cottage presents the exhibit Foundations of Printing and will also be sponsoring a FREE print workshop throughout the Art Fallout evening.   

Come to the Cottage, see an exhibition of print techniques and make your own prints using one or more of these techniques. Blank canvas tote bags will be available for sale. 

Treat yourself to local honey and jams available for sale, along with freshly baked goods. 

Made in Broward at the Cottage is committed to creating an environment, through 4-H youth development and mentoring programs, where youth and adults can learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change. Programs help youth learn by participating in projects in Visual Arts, Food Science, Gardening, Robotics, and Sewing.

Unframed at Girls' Club: Open call for work on paper with public feedback element

Girls’ Club invites South Florida artists of all levels, genders, and backgrounds to submit artworks for Unframed, a one-day, open-call visual art exhibition of unframed works on paper during the community-wide event Art Fallout, Saturday October 17, 2015.

Artists are encouraged to submit new, experimental or in-progress works to take advantage of the unique feedback element provided.

A panel of prominent South Florida arts professionals – local gallery owners, dealers, curators and museum professionals – will informally judge the works, offering professional feedback and critique. The public is invited to comment as well, using a system of color-coded handwritten messages placed by each work.

Find a new audience for your work and expand your exposure!

Get feedback from artists, curators, collectors and others!

Network with other local artists!

Hear directly from the public about your work!



Rules of Entry
  • All work must be on paper, NO FRAMES OR MATT BOARDS, PAPER ONLY.
  • Works must measure no more than 24 x 24 inches.
  • Limit two works per artist, $10 entry fee per work.
  • Deadline: All work must be delivered to Girls' Club by Friday, October 16, 5pm.

Artwork Delivery/Pick-up
  • Artists are responsible for delivery/pickup of work.
  • Deliver artworks during Drop Off week: Wed – Fri, Oct 14 – 16, 2015, 1-5pm.
  • Pick up artworks following the event: Sat, October 17 during Artist Hour 9-10pm 
  • OR pick up the following week: Wed – Fri, October 21-23, 2014, 1-5pm.
  • Girls’ Club will not store works beyond these dates, call or email to make other arrangements.
  • Girls’ Club does not handle sales. Any inquiries will be forwarded to the artist.
  • The utmost care will be given to works, however, Girls’ Club accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged artwork.

How to
  1. Fill out online submission form
  2. Bring your work to Girls' Club during Drop Off Week
  3. Submission fees can be made online or during drop off.
  4. Come to the event, share and invite your friends, Saturday October 17, 5-9pm.
  5. Pick up your work, and a stack of colorful sticky notes, during Artist Hour following the big event, 9-10pm.

Showcasing the vast variety of cultural offerings available in our growing hub of a contemporary art scene, in the middle of downtown Fort Lauderdale is Art Fallout 2015!

The 2-mile wide Fallout Zone will be connected by NSU Shark Shuttles which will loop to each destination all evening.

Parking is available in several areas with parking garages, valet parking lots and street/metered parking.

Our Volunteer Bomb Squad will be making the rounds to each destination, guiding visitors through the controlled chaos of Art Fallout and providing answers, info and directions.
