Art Fallout 2013 Venues host open calls for Artist Submissions

With Art Fallout 2013 only a few months away, we've put together a list of exhibition calls and artist opportunities. As more opportunities are made available, they will be added this list.

Girls' Club


Art Fallout: Thinking on Paper: All South Florida artists are invited to submit artworks to a one-day open-call visual art exhibition of unframed works on paper. Work will be installed at Girls’ Club, located. A panel of prominent South Florida arts professionals will informally judge the works, offering professional feedback and exposing artists' works to local gallery owners, dealers, curators and museum professionals. The public is invited to comment as well, using a system of color-coded handwritten messages placed by each work.
Drop Off Deadline Oct 4. Submission fee: $10 per work, limit 2 works.

1310 Gallery at Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts

Rough and Tumble: Seeking Sculpture, Installation art, Video art, Mixed media, Use of found objects, and/or non-traditional media are preferred. Larger sizes and Site specificity preferable.  Proposals for new works, site-specific Installation art, and performances are welcome. A proposal explanation and examples of previous work are required.
Submitted artwork should be relevant to the “rough and tumble” theme.
Deadline July 28. Submission fee: $15 for up to 10 images.

FAT Village

Fiber Optics at The Projects: Seeking artists that have “Contemporary” approaches to traditional fiber art processes such as sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, plaiting, weaving, rug-hooking, quilting, etc., or use fiber art textiles like fabric, lace, felt, thread, yarn, etc. Artists that merge these traditional craft processes with unexpected materials, other media, sculpture, installation, and video art are preferred.  Unconventional approaches are combined with technique, embellishment, and aesthetic appeal. Proposals for site-specific Installation art, and performances are welcome as well. For site-specific works, a proposal explanation and examples of previous work are required. Floor plan available upon request.
Deadline Aug 18. Submission Fee: $15 jury fee and $10 participation fee.
