Girls' Club

Girls' Club is a non-profit private collection and alternative exhibition space providing year-round arts programming and events including film screenings, workshops, art talks, panel discussions and more.

VIEW: "Art Fallout: Thinking on Paper" is a one-day open call exhibition of work on paper from local artists.  Through color-coded Post-Its, a panel of prominent South Florida arts professionals will informally judge the works. The public is also invited to give feedback and comment, giving artists a direct connection to viewers, gallerists, curators and collectors. FATVillage Arts District

NW 1 Avenue, between 5 and 6 street
FAT Village is a concentration of artist studios, galleries and creative business on NW 1 Avenue between 5 and 6 Street.  Open studios, special exhibitions, galleries and pop-up exhibits line the avenue in this growing arts neighborhood.

VIEW: Rough and Tumble, at Projects North, curated by Lisa Rockford, brings together 29 artists selected through a part juried, part invitational process. The artists are linked by their fresh approaches to the ROUGH & TUMBLE theme. Selected artists were asked to respond to the following definitions; ROUGH: “characterized by violent, random, disorderly action and struggles, unrestrained, marked by bursts of destructive force or intense activity,” and TUMBLE: “an unorganized collection or mixture of various things, described as Raw, Textured, Volatile, and/or Arbitrary, Hybrid forms.”

VIEW: Faces of Art a project from Inside Out | Fort Lauderdale, exhibiting a large-scale photographic tribute to local artists. The Inside Out Project is a global art project that transforms messages of personal identity into powerful urban exhibitions to spark conversations and generate awareness through art.

1310 Gallery at Sailboat Bend Artists Lofts

1310 Gallery, a recent winner of New Times magazine “Best Gallery 2013/Editorial choice,” offers a unique 3000 square foot exhibition space, split into 3 levels. The gallery is housed within ArtSpace’s Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts, situated in a scenic and historic part of downtown Ft Lauderdale. 1310 Gallery is an artist run collective that rotates art exhibitions monthly.

VIEW: Fiber Optics an exhibition of 42 artists, as well as visit open studios. Fiber Optics is a comprehensive survey of fresh, innovative approaches to “fiber art.” The artists selected have reinvented traditional craft processes such as embroidery, crochet, knitting, weaving, sewing, and quilting. Rather than follow prescribed methods, they merge traditional craft with sculpture, installation, and video art; and utilize unexpected materials that transcend their banal origins with integral symbolism. Though the approaches are unconventional, technique, precision, and aesthetic appeal are still at the core of their processes.

Glavovic Studio is an award-winning design firm located in South Florida exploring and producing contemporary architecture, art and urban design, with a focus on exceptional creative processes and client oriented services that engage the environment and provide social value.

VIEW: GS Talks03_GROUNDWATER_Conversations on WATER with Artists, Architects, Historians, Designers on Florida’s Future. Glavovic Studio continues the GS TALKS Series with a Forum on WATER.  The Public is invited to engage with guest Artists, installations, drawings and Presentations in a dialogue about art and design for change. Glavovic Studio will also be presenting the art work of President/Design Director Margi Glavovic Nothard.

Bedlam Lorenz Assembly

Bedlam Lorenz Assembly (BLA) is Young At Art Museum's contemporary arts and alternative projects group, created to futher the development of art and culture in South Florida. The group works with artists, art institutions, and site-specific locations to facilitate the production, presentation and integration of art in culture, with a focus community accessibility.

VIEW: We Own Your Imagination (The Physical Possibilities of Art's Falling Out From Spatial Boundaries of Perception in the Mind of Someone Reading This Title) is a interactive experience-driven project presented by Bedlam Lorenz Assembly.  The project will take over a 13,000 ft2 lot on the corner of Andrews Avenue and 5 Street, with an interactive 100 ft-long wall mural and a sculptural playground for all ages. Art Fallout patrons are invited to adventure through the actions presented by the sculptural playground and make their own contributions to the ongoing murals.The entire site will be transformed into an all-inclusive artwork, created by the artists and activists comprising BLA.

Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale

The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (MOAFL) is home to a collection of over 6,000 historic, modern and contemporary art works, providing a year-round schedule of exhibitions, lectures, panels and member events. In 2012, MOAFL launched Foto Fort Lauderdale, an exciting new series of high-caliber photographic exhibitions that give photography a permanent, year-round home at the Nova Southeastern University’s Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, complemented by a wide array of related workshops, lectures, and in-gallery activities.

VIEW: Bunny Yeager: Both Sides of the Camera and Woman's World: Contemporary Views of Women by Women, two exhibitions from MOAFL's new platform Foto Fort Lauderdale, a new series of high caliber photographic exhibitions that give photography a permanent home at the museum, complemented by a wide array of lectures and art related activities.

EAT: Books & Books Cafe, serving wine, coffee, tea, sandwiches, salads and more.

PARTY: After party hosted by All Together Now (ATN), the Museum of Art's group of yoing adults will be held on the museum's terrace overlooking Huizenga Plaza from 8-11pm. ATN continues the Art Fallout festivities with live music, artworks created on spot and cocktails.

Third Avenue Artist Studios

NE 3 Avenue Area
The Third Avenue Art District's artist studios will be opening their doors, inviting the public to peak into their working studios to see special exhibitions, recent work and all that is involved in an artist's creative space. The studios line NE Third Avenue from NE 2 Street to 8 street and will be participating for the first time in this year's Art Fallout events.
